IPI Garut Explores Educational Innovation at Permata Pintar@UKM and Kolej Tingkatan Enam Tuanku Muhriz

Garut, 5 November 2025 - Institut Pendidikan Indonesia (IPI) Garut further strengthens its international academic network through an event entitled “IPI Garut Explores Educational Innovation at PermataPintar@UKM and Kolej Tingkatan Enam Tuanku MuhrizThe event was held on Monday, November 3, 2025, as part of the academic collaboration between IPI Garut and several universities in Malaysia.

This academic visit was attended by 22 participants consisting of students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program and the Educational Technology Program, accompanied by two faculty members, namely Dr. Jamilah, M.Pd. and Dr. Yustika Nur Fajriah, M.Pd. The main objective of this activity is to study best practices the educational innovations implemented at Permata Pintar@UKM—a leading school under Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)—and at Kolej Tingkatan Enam Tuanku Muhriz.

During the visit, participants had the opportunity to attend classroom sessions at Kolej Tingkatan Enam to observe the learning process and teaching strategies that emphasize the development of students’ critical thinking and leadership skills. In addition, the group also visited showcase Permata Pintar, which showcased various innovative projects in the fields of science and astronomy, demonstrating how research-based learning can foster creativity and scientific problem-solving among students.

This activity provided valuable experience for IPI Garut lecturers and students in understanding Malaysia’s exemplary education system, particularly in integrating theory, practice, and student potential development. Through direct discussions and observations, participants gained new insights into the implementation of research-based learning, technology integration, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This initiative aligns with IPI Garut’s commitment to broadening the global perspectives of its academic community and supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 4 (Quality Education) and No. 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). As a follow-up, IPI Garut and its Malaysian partners plan to develop collaborations in curriculum development, joint research, and academic exchanges to strengthen sustainable and globally oriented educational innovation.
