Garut, 5 November 2025 - Institut Pendidikan Indonesia (IPI) Garut continues to expand its international academic network through the program International Community Service organized in collaboration with the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG) Kampus Ilmu Khas, Malaysia. This program is part of IPI Garut's efforts to strengthen the global competence of graduate students, especially in the field of cross-country educational innovation and technology.

This activity involved two postgraduate students from IPI Garut — Tita Latifah from the Educational Technology Program and Reni Noviani Lasmi Dewi from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program — who collaborated with two students from the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Program at IPG Kampus Ilmu Khas. This collaboration focused on the topic of “Optimizing Teaching Technology in the Context of Malaysia and Indonesia” as a form of exploration into the use of digital technology in 21st-century learning.

Through the online activity conducted via Zoom Meeting, the participants shared best practices (best practices) in utilizing digital media and platforms to support interactive, contextual, and student-centered learning. The discussion also highlighted the challenges and opportunities in implementing technology in both countries, as well as how collaborative approaches among educators can foster relevant and sustainable learning innovations.

This program not only strengthened the students’ pedagogical skills but also broadened their cross-cultural understanding and international academic communication. This collaboration serves as a tangible manifestation of IPI Garut’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (SDGs) number 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnerships to Achieve Goals), through the synergy between higher education institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia. Moving forward, IPI Garut and IPG Kampus Ilmu Khas plan to continue this collaboration through collaborative teaching, joint research, and student exchange programs to strengthen academic capabilities and enrich the international experiences of the academic communities from both institutions.
